Consultative Leadership

Consultative Leadership applies the psychological counseling techniques as well as Leary Rose Model to management practice. It aims to help managers to broaden their behavioral boundaries and nurture subordinates’ initiative and their sense of responsibility, so to realize subordinates’ self-management and self-motivation, which in turn will contribute to the organization’s corporate performance. 


Consultative Leadership is a highly interactive program, and lots of practice and exercise are involved. 


There are three levels of this program:

Level 1 is based on psychological techniques. It aims to improve managers’ soft skills such as interpersonal skills, influencing skills, problem solving skills and conflict management skills. Through application of these psychological techniques, managers can simulate subordinates’ initiative and enhance their capability in problem solving.

Level 2 is based on MBTI (the world’s most widely used personality indicator – the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®) and Leary Rose Model. It tries to incorporate MBTI into the Rose Model, help managers build insights into subordinates’ behavioral inertia, and use different approaches to motivate subordinates.

Level 3 combines the soft skills and hard skills together, through understanding of subordinates’ personalities, and strength and weakness of certain personality, they can try to put right person for the right position, whereas through understanding the subordinates’ interpersonal relationship, the managers can adopt the situational-suited management styles, so to motivate the subordinates in the different development levels, and enhance corporate performance.

This program starts from psychological techniques, and tries to combine the different aspects of leadership. After you finish the program, you will know how to communicate, how to motivate, how to set up goals, how to select the right person , etc. Meanwhile, it can also help you to set up your own action plan to improve your leadership.

Coaching is an approach used to expand the perspective of the other person and support them in developing greater competence, capability and commitment.  Coaching does not involve telling the other person what to do.  The intent is that the coachee is able to derive new solution paths given the new perspective the coach has provided.  Then the coach can help the coachee uncover barriers and support them in moving forward.
